Board of Supervisors Meeting – May 2, 2016

Wayne County Board of Supervisors

May 2, 2016

A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 2nd day of May 2016, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice of meeting duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.

Present were David Dotts, Duffy Kester, John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors.

Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.

Sellers made the motion, seconded by Dotts to approve the agenda.

Denise Becker and Bill Byrns were also present to review the Hazard Mitigation process, funding and payment of services and reimbursement of grant funds.  Discussion included various duties relating to Chariton Valley RC&D, LEPC, FEMA, State Homeland Security and the County.  It was noted that the County had signed an Agreement with Chariton Valley RC&D for services in the amount of $35,000.00  It was noted that LEPC would be holding a meeting with Chariton Valley on May 5th, the Board would be meeting with Chariton Valley RC&D on May 9th and a meeting with State Homeland Security on May 10th, for further discussion and review of the process and requirements.

Sellers made the motion, seconded by Dotts to sign an Agreement with United Health Care for coverage for Wayne County Employees beginning July 1, 2016.

There was some discussion in regards to the purchase of a building for storage to be used by the Custodian.

There being no further business the Board recessed until it became necessary for discussion, with the next regularly scheduled meeting to be held on the 9th day of May 2016.
