A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 24th day of May, 2019, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were David Dotts, Tom Swearingin, members of the Board of Supervisors, David Rhodes, Bill Byrns, Brandon Carpenter, Joella Perry, Linda Fain, Rita Arnold, Al Wilson, Kim Swearingin, Dan Coffey, Mendy Middlebrook, Michelle Dooley.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Dotts made the motion to add the Elevator to the agenda with a second by Swearingin.
Swearingin made the motion with a second by Swearingin to approve the amended agenda.
Dotts read the resignation of Duffy Kester effective Friday, May 24, 2019. Swearingin made the motion with a second by Dotts to accept the resignation letter. Both Swearingin & Dotts wanted to thank Duffy for his years of service and wanted him to know that he was an asset to Wayne County and will be missed. Kim Swearingin discussed that the appointment committee would have 40 days to make the appointment to fill vacancy and they would be working through the process.
Swearingin made the motion with a second by Dotts to appoint Dotts as Chair.
Dotts & Swearingin both reviewed the bids from Kone Elevator & Otis Elevator regarding door enclosures. Swearingin made a motion with a second by Dotts to accept Kone Elevator bid.
Swearingin made the motion with a second by Dotts to adjourn the meeting at 9:11 AM.
There being no further business, the next meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors will be held on the 3rd day of June, 2019.
