Board of Supervisors Meeting – April 4, 2016

April 4, 2016

A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 4th day of April 2016, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice of meeting duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.

Present were David Dotts, Duffy Kester, John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors.

Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.

Sellers made the motion, seconded by Dotts to approve the Agenda.

Dotts made the motion, seconded by Sellers to approve the minutes of the March 21, 2016, meeting.

Sellers made the motion, seconded by Dotts to approve the claims as submitted.

The BPTC credits were presented and review with Sellers making the motion, seconded by Dotts to approve the tax credits as presented.

Mendy Middlebrook, CPC, was present and reviewed Resolution 02-22-2016, naming Kelly Yeggy as the Mental Health Advocate for the Counties of Wayne and Monroe. Dotts made the motion, seconded by Sellers to approve said Resolution.

Mrs. Middlebrook also presented the Amended and Restate 28E Agreement pertaining to the change in regards to Monroe County joining the Mental Health Region. Sellers made the motion, seconded by Dotts.

Trevor Wolf, County Engineer, was present and reviewed the 2016-2017 DOT Budget and Program. Dotts made the motion, seconded by Sellers to approve and forward to the State.

Mr. Wolf also updated the Board on various projects along with the Summer Intern Program through Iowa State.

The Board had some discussion in regards to the condition of Old Highway 2 west of Corydon, noting that they would review it with the County Engineer for a solution.

Dotts made the motion to approve the Employee Handbook with noted changes to be reviewed with Department Heads to be adopted May 1, 2016, seconded by Sellers.

It was noted that Amy Tometich status as a part-time dispatcher was changed to full-time effective April 3, 2016.

It was noted that Ron Guthrie had been hired by the Conservation Department for a contract employee at $10.00 per hour. There being no further business the Baord recessed with a meeting for discussion purposes to be held on April 20, 2016, with the next regular meeting would be held on the 18th day of April 2016.
