A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 28th day of July, 2017, in the meeting room of the Wayne County Courthouse pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were David Dotts, Duffy Kester, John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Supervisor Chairman, David Dotts, called the Public Hearing on the proposed hog confinement in Richman Township to order at 9:00 AM.
Representatives from Iowa Select Farms, Iowa DNR, and Wayne County residents who might be affected by this project were in attendance.
Iowa Select representatives informed citizens on their proposed plans and area residents were allowed to ask questions about the facility.
Sellers made a motion with a second by Kester to disapprove of this facility. Votes by the Board were as follows: Kester – nay, Sellers – nay, Dotts – nay
The meeting was adjourned.
