April 9, 2018
A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 9th day of April, 2018, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were David Dotts, Duffy Kester, John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Pledge of Allegiance
Kester made the motion seconded by Sellers to approve the Agenda.
Sellers made the motion seconded by Kester to approve the minutes of the March 26, 2018 meeting.
Kester made the motion with a 2nd by Sellers to approve the claims.
Denise Hook, Treasurer of the Prairie Trails Fitness Center, addressed the Board with clarifications about the fitness center. Sellers made a motion with a 2nd by Kester to give a donation of $4000 to Prairie Trails Fitness Center.
Bill Byrns, EMC/E911, updated the Board on radios as well as the generator south of town. Byrns also presented the two quotes for the Pictometry flights. Sellers made a motion with a 2nd by Kester to accept the lower bid of $66,917.50.
Angie Horton, Recorder, was present to discuss Eagle Software that she will be using in her office.
Board members discussed the updates on the County Farm. Chad King will be leasing it for $195 per acre for another year.
Trevor Wolf, County Engineer, gave updates on secondary roads. The county line bridge will open soon, equipment will be moved to work on the bridge at the park near Humeston, and bridge spans have arrived. Wolf also discussed a petition to vacate 45th St. in Jefferson Township, Sections 10 & 15. Kester made a motion with a 2nd by Sellers to approve Resolution 04-01-18 for a Public Hearing for the closing of 45th St. from J-46 to Howe Rd.
Sellers made the motion with 2nd by Kester to adjourn at 9:55 AM.
There being no further business, the next meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors will be held on the 23rd day of April, 2018.
