A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 14th day of February, 2019, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were Duffy Kester, David Dotts, Tom Swearingin, members of the Board of Supervisors.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Pledge of Allegiance.
Swearingin made the motion with a second by Dotts to approve the agenda.
After much discussion on section 4.3 of the Wayne County Employee Handbook, Swearingin made the motion with a second by Dotts to approve the changes discussed to section 4.3 of the handbook effective Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2019. All employees will receive notification of the changes.
Swearingin made the motion with a 2nd by Dotts to grant Linda Fain 14 hours of comp time for time worked due to weather.
Swearingin made a motion to rescind the following motion that was passed on February 4, 2019 with a 2nd by Dotts: Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to compensate those County employees who had to work the 14 hours that the Courthouse was closed at 1:1 pay for hours worked. Swearingin then made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts for Department Heads in the Sheriff’s Office and New Venture to use their discretion to give 14 hours of Comp time to their employees for the hours the Courthouse was closed on Jan. 22nd, Jan. 23rd, and Jan. 30, 2019. Swearingin and Dotts voted Aye. Kester voted Nay.
Dotts made a motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to adjourn the open meeting at 9:04 AM.
Dotts made the motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to go to closed session at 9:05 AM according to Iowa Code 21.5(i).
Dotts made the motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to end the closed session at 10:20 AM.
Dotts made the motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to adjourn the meeting at 10:20 AM.
There being no further business, the next meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors will be held on the 25th day of February, 2019.
