A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 2nd day of January, 2019, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were Duffy Kester, David Dotts, and Tom Swearingin members of the Board of Supervisors.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Pledge of Allegiance
Kester made the motion seconded by Swearingin to approve the Agenda.
The Oath of Office was given to the following:
Recorder – Angie Horton, Deputy Recorder – Rita Arnold
Treasurer – Kim Swearingin, Deputy Treasurer – Laura Henderson & Amanda Cooper
Supervisor – David Dotts & Tom Swearingin
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts for Duffy Kester to be the Chair of the Board of Supervisors.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Kester for David Dotts to be the Chair Protem of the Board of Supervisors.
Dotts made a motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to approve 01-01-19 – A Resolution pertaining to the Discrimination Disclaimer for Wayne County.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve 01-03-19 – Resolution for official newspaper of Wayne County.
Dotts made a motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to approve 01-04-19 – Resolution pertaining to GASB 34.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve 01-05-19 – Resolution on Appraisal of an Estate for Inheritance Tax.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve 01-06-19 – Resolution pertaining to the suspension of property taxes.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve 01-07-19 – Resolution for Chair and Pro-Tem of the Wayne County BOS.
Swearingin made a motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve 01-10-19 – Resolution on Fund Balance Policy.
Dotts made a motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to approve 01-11-19 – Resolution pertaining to GASB Statement 51.
Dotts made a motion with a 2nd by Swearingin to approve 01-12-19 – Master Matrix Resolution.
The Board also discussed their membership on various boards with a few changes to accommodate schedules.
Auditor, Michelle Dooley, reminded the Board of township training on Tuesday, Jan. 8th, at 5:30 pm in the Courthouse Meeting Room. The Comp Board meeting will be on Jan. 10th at 5:30 pm at the Courthouse.
Swearingin made the motion to adjourn the meeting with a second by Dotts at 10:00 AM.
There being no further business, the next meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors will be held on the 14th day of January 2019.
