Board of Supervisors Meeting – January 2, 2018

A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 2nd day of January, 2018, in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were David Dotts and John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors. Duffy Kester was absent.
Pledge of Allegiance
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Sellers made the motion seconded by Dotts to approve the Agenda.
Sellers made the motion seconded by Dotts to approve the minutes of the December 18, 2017 meeting.
Sellers made the motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve the claims.
Angie Horton, Wayne County Recorder, was present to discuss upgrades to her office that would interface with other departments within the courthouse. These upgrades should be completed by the end of 2018. Sellers and Dotts agreed that the upgrades are needed, but had a few questions before making a final decision. Horton will get that information and present it to the Board at the Jan. 16th meeting.
Sellers made the motion with a 2nd by Dotts to approve a new employment application to be used for applicants to Wayne County positions.
Trevor Wolf, County Engineer, updated the Board on the secondary road department. He stated that the Right of Way on 110th has been purchased. Wolf has one quote on a new belly dump and will be getting another quote. Wolf also expressed interest in applying for an intern for the upcoming summer.
Sellers made the motion with a 2nd by Dotts to adjourn the meeting at 9:35 AM.
There being no further business, the next meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors will be held on the 16th day of January, 2018.
