Special Meeting regarding Covid-19

March 17, 2020

A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, Elected Officials and Department Heads was held on the 17th day of March, 2020, in the Conference Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa.

Present were David Dotts, Tom Swearingin, Don Seams, Joella Perry, Mendy Middlebrook, David Rhodes, Bill Byrns, Jen Reed, Kenny Banks, Keith Davis, Randy Zerr, Kim Swearingin, Shelley Bickel, Michelle Dooley, Judge Dustria Relph, Traci Tharp, Rhonda Ewing, Angie Horton, Brandon Carpenter, Linda Fain.

Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.

Dotts called meeting to order at 11:00 AM

Discussion regarding closing the Courthouse to only staff with exception of the Court System on the 2nd floor. This discussion was in response to Governor Reynold’s Proclamation & social distancing regarding Covid-19. Essential business can be handled by phone, mail, email, on-line and drop box.

TSwearingin made motion close the courthouse to the public effective 8:00am on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 with the exception of the 2nd floor for court system. The Board of Supervisors will evaluate the situation weekly until further notice, seconded by Seams.

Public Notice given by Wayne County Website, Auditor’s Facebook page, Treasurer’s Facebook page and Corydon Times Republican Website.

TSwearingin made motion to adjourn at 11:30 AM, seconded by Seams.

The Board will meet in session on the 23rd day of March, 2020 at 9:00 AM.
