January 3, 2017
A meeting of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors was held on the 3rd day of October 2017, at 9:00 AM in the Board Room of the Wayne County Courthouse, Corydon, Iowa, pursuant to notice duly given in compliance with Iowa Code Section 21.4. The Board noted due notice of meeting subject to said Code Section.
Present were David Dotts, Duffy Kester, John Sellers, members of the Board of Supervisors.
Unless otherwise noted, all motions were approved unanimously.
Kester made the motion seconded by Sellers to approve the Agenda.
Sellers made the motion seconded by Kester to approve the minutes of the December 28, 2016, meeting.
David Dotts, Supervisor Chairperson, gave the oath of office to Mike Lewis – Chief Deputy for Wayne County Sheriff, Tammy Clark – Wayne County Auditor, and Michelle Dooley – Wayne County Deputy Auditor.
There were no claims submitted.
Trevor Wolf was present to discuss the final pay voucher for the box culvert on 140th. A motion was made by Kester and seconded by Sellers to approve payment of voucher BROS-C093(67) – -5f-93. Wolf also asked about the status of his new contract effective Jan. 1, 2017. Kester made the motion to approve the 3-year contract at a 2.5% increase each year of the contract. Sellers seconded the motion.
Bill Byrns was present to discuss joining the Southern Iowa Regional Emergency Planning Committee. Kester made the motion seconded by Sellers to approve Resolution 01-18-17 which would dissolve the Wayne County LEPC in order for them to become part of the larger Southern Iowa Regional Emergency Planning Committee.
There was discussion of payment of claims twice per month and reviewing the Resolution of Claims at the Jan. 11, 2017 Board Meeting.
Sellers discussed the open meeting requirements of the Board. The Board discussed planning some work sessions to make some solid plans for the county as well as to discuss budget needs for Wayne County. The Wayne County Newspaper will be notified of the dates and time of those work sessions.
Kester made the motion seconded by Sellers to appoint Denise Becker as the Secretary to the Wayne County Board of Supervisors.
Sellers made the motion seconded by Kester for the Board to recess.
There being no further business the Board recessed until the next regular meeting to be held on the 11th day of January 2017.
